Known as Falu sausage, is a pre-cooked Swedish sausage that originated in Falun, Sweden: 

• Ingredients: A mixture of smoked pork and beef, onion, salt, and mild spices 
• Preparation: Can be eaten cold or prepared in a variety of ways, including slicing and frying, baking, or stuffing 
• History: The tradition of making Falukorv dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries, when German miners at the Falun copper mine would salt and smoke leftover meat 
• Popularity: A beloved Swedish comfort food that can be enjoyed year-round 
• Other names: Outside of Scandinavia, Falukorv is also known as ring bologna 

 Here are some ways to prepare Falukorv:

• Sliced and fried: Pair with boiled, fried, or mashed potatoes, or with elbow macaroni 
• Baked au gratin: Partially slice the sausage and bake with cheese, mustard, onion, or apple, and serve with mashed or roast potatoes 
• Oven-baked with apple and cheese: Cut notches into the sausage, spread mustard in the notches, add apple slices and cheese slices, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake until browned 
• Scalloped: Prepare with apples, whole grain mustard, and Swedish cheese
