Thuringian dumplings (*Thüringer Klöße*) are served alongside hearty, meat-based dishes with plenty of gravy—a hallmark of Thuringian cuisine—such as dark game dishes, *Sauerbraten* (marinated pot roast), *Goulash* (Beef Stew) , *Rouladen* (meat rolls) or substantial poultry dishes.
